Arizona Short Course Championships

20 Heat swimmers competed in the Arizona State Championships last weekend at Brophy Sports Complex in Phoenix. The Heat had some GREAT swims … 16 swimmers scored points in the meet, including Top 3 finishes by Alex Curtis, Jonathan Duran, Andrew Russell-Cheung, and Katelyn Weddle. Katelyn took top honors in all three Senior Breaststroke events !! Congratulations to you all !!! Complete results and team scores can be found on our Meets & Results page.

Practice Variations

The team will take a Spring Break in late-March / early-April. Because Easter is so early this year, we will take a long Easter weekend, swim for three days, swim the Season Finale at Chandler, and then take a full week off … got all that ?!? Okay, broken down it will look like this:

Season Finale March 28-30

No Practice March 31-April 6

Summer Meet Schedule

There is still one hole in our summer schedule. The problem will be resolved this week and a full summer schedule will be sent out next week. Those meets that are solid are listed on our Meets & Results page.

Golf Tournament

The Tournament has been cancelled due to a lack of initial sponsorship. If you had potential sponsors, and you think they might still be interested in supporting our program, please give Troy Maryniak the contact information. There are MANY things that we need and corporate sponsorship is a great way to make them real !

We have removed this meet from our team schedule. Most of those that would swim in Tempe have just finished Regionals and/or State. If you really want to go, please see Coach Andersen for details.

Team Banquet

The Heat will host its annual banquet on Friday, April 11
Full details and sign-up sheet will be distributed this week.

Poway “ABC”

April 18-20
Poway, CA
This will be the first meet of the summer season.
This is a long course meet and is open to ALL swimmers.
No further info at this time.

Arizona Swimposium

This has become an annual event for Arizona Swimming. There will be a clinic for swimmers, a clinic for coaches, a clinic for team managers, and a clinic for officials !
Complete information will be sent out as soon as it is available.
