We (the Board of Directors, parents, and coaches) have been spending a lot of energy devising, digesting, and implementing the new business plan. There may still be some tweaking necessary, but it will be minor. It’s time to thank the Board for their work, and our families for their support.

Practice Schedule Variations

No AFTERNOON Senior Practice Saturday, May 5
No Practice Friday, May 11 or Saturday, May 12 … Flagstaff Meet
No Practice Saturday May 19 … Middle School Invitational. We would like all of the Senior swimmers at this meet. Your help is needed !
Kennedy Pool has water ! The maintenance crew ran into a minor mechanical problem, but when the pool is ready (sometime later this week ?) the Red 3, Orange 2 & 3, and Senior 1 & 2 groups will move. Long Course !! We will have a couple of days notice, but be prepared for the change.
While speaking of Practice Schedules ... the same groups going to Kennedy in May will move to mornings at Kennedy once school is out. We will lose our afternoon slot at Kennedy and must swim in the morning if we want to practice long course (50 meter course), and we DO want to practice long course ! The times will be posted soon.

Middle School Meet

If you haven’t heard, the Heat will be running a Middle School Invitational on Saturday, May 19 at Marcus Pool. This is a great opportunity for Yuma’s Middle School students, AND, a great opportunity for these students to meet the Heat ! We will need help running the meet. If you have worked as a Stroke & Turn judge, we need you. If you have run the computer or timing system, we need you. If you have worked as a starter, we need you. Seniors, we need you. A sign up list will be posted next week. Many of our own swimmers will be participating in this event ! Let’s make the Inaugural Middle School Invitational a memorable event.

Lessons

Coach David Luquin will be giving Private and Semi-Private Lessons at Marcus Pool between 6 and 7 PM. If you have younger children ready for the water, or if someone you know is looking for a quality swim instructor, call Coach David at 388-5284.
