Practice Variations

The City of Yuma has scheduled a party at Kennedy Pool for Wednesday, May 17 … TONIGHT. We found out yesterday. The Senior & Orange Groups will NOT practice this afternoon.

The Red Groups will move back to Marcus Pool on Monday, May 22.

Tuesday, May 23: Due to another party at Kennedy, the Senior & Orange Groups will practice at Marcus Pool.

Memorial Day (Monday, May 29) – NO PRACTICE !

Long Course Mini-Meet

We will have a mini-meet at Kennedy Pool on Saturday, May 20. Warm up will be at 8 AM and we will begin at 9 AM. The meet will finish up around 11 AM. This is for ALL swimmers (Red 1’s check with Coach Tate).

The order of events will be:

200 Choice (any stroke)

100 Free

50 Back

100 Back

50 Breast

100 Breast

50 Fly

100 Fly

50 Free

200 IM

Parents should be prepared to help with the timing.

Upcoming Meets

Sign-up forms have been distributed for the Tucson Ford Southwest Classic and the South Bay (Chula Vista, CA) Long Course “B/C” Meet. These must be returned to the coaches by Tuesday, May 23 (all groups will be practicing at Marcus that day, so that works out alright). Swimmers must have NAG “BB” times to enter the Tucson meet. All those not eligible for Tucson ARE eligible for the South Bay meet.

Swim-A-Thon

The Swim-A-Thon information and initial pledge envelopes have been distributed to the swimmers. If you have not received this information, see your coach TODAY ! Information is also posted on the NEWS !! page of our website.

This is the team’s primary fund-raiser and EVERYONE is expected to participate. The Heat Board of Directors has made a special effort to keep monthly fees as low as possible. Your fees cover the very basic operations, but in order to be a GREAT program, additional monies must be generated.
